Description
✨Beatrix Potter✨
Join master-painter Elizabeth Marruffo as she guides you through some of the painting and drawing techniques used by the beloved illustrator, Beatrix Potter. Although lesser known, her scientific illustrations of mushrooms and insects were just as brilliant as the rabbits that made her famous.
During this course we will be using watercolours, inks and pencils to undertake observational studies of animals as well as copies of Potter’s works. We will be studying proportion, shape, form and colour while completing a series of beautiful animal illustrations. From preparing compositions and transferring images, to working with pencils and watercolour, this eight week course is going to provide students with a deep understanding of the way this artist worked.
Our small class size of only 12, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.
Sunday morning session runs at 10.00am – 12.00midday from the 16th of February until the 6th of April
This course is recommended for ages 11 +
Note for Time Change: We have rescheduled our Sunday morning courses so as not to coincide with other events that take place in the complex that are outside our control. We apologise to any students who are not able to attend our new time.
Note for New Students: No previous experience with painting is required in order to join this class, however it is suited to older students as the process we teach does require students to be patient and have the ability to maintain interest in a long-term project.
Instalment Payments: We welcome flexible instalment payments over the term. At the check out, simply let us know how you’d like to break up the payments and choose the Direct Deposit option. It couldn’t be easier!
