✨Magical Girl Stories!✨
Join comics-maker Campbell Whyte as we dig deep into the techniques and materials used to create Manga.
In this eight week course, we will be studying the kaleidoscopic genre of Magical Girl stories! We’ll be creating our own short-stories that draw inspiration from iconic series such as Sailor Moon, Magic Knight Rayearth, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Wedding Peach and Card Captor Sakura.
So get ready for an overload of sparkles, flowers, transformations, supernatural battles and wish-fulfillment as we dive into the deep end of this spectacular Shojo genre.
Across the term we will be exploring both fundamental comics making skills as well as advanced drawing techniques. Comics is an incredible medium that combines aspects of visual arts, graphic design, calligraphy and literature into something wholly unique.
Essential skills such as narrative pacing, choosing the right moment for each panel and dialogue will be taught in depth alongside anatomy, perspective, shading and much more.
Our small class size of only 12, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.
Saturday morning session runs at 11.30am – 1.00pm from the 15th of February until the 5th of April
