Note: The Sunday course can be started from the second session at a reduced cost.

Important Note: all weekend courses will not be running on Saturday the 29th of July or Sunday the 30th of July. This is because the Perth Comic Arts Festival will be running that weekend. We encourage all students to attend the Festival as it’s a fantastic opportunity to see the local comics community in action.

In this eight week course we will be studying the delightfully playful series Doraemon by renowned team Fujiko Fujio as inspiration. From page layout and pen types to toning and lettering. We’ll explore all the different techniques that Fujiko Fujio uses to bring their incredible series to life.

Essential skills such as narrative pacing, choosing the right moment for each panel and dialogue will be taught in depth alongside anatomy, perspective, shading and much more.

Comics is an amazing story-telling medium that combines aspects of visual arts, graphic design, calligraphy and literature into something wholly unique.

Our small class size of only 12, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.

Saturday midday session runs at 11.30am – 1.00pm from the 22nd of July until the 16th of September

Sunday morning session runs at 9.30am – 11.00am from the 23rd of July until the 17th of September

This course is recommended for ages 11+
