Description
✨Marie Laurencin – her ethereal animals✨
This holiday in Junior Art we will be making artworks inspired by the life and work of the French-artist Marie Laurencin.
Laurencin was a peer of Picasso’s and painted people such as Coco Chanel in her signature pastel dreamy way. Over two days, we will be inspired by her paintings of horses, dogs and birds to create artworks of our own. Using a variety of materials such as tissue papers, pastels, gouache paint and collagraph supplies we will collage, paint and printmake our own versions of her animals. In this masterclass we will study the anatomy of horses, dogs and birds as well as look at how this modernist painter came up with her signature style.
Our small class size of only 12, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.
All materials and an afternoon tea fruit platter will be provided for each day. Please bring a nut free snack and lunch as well as a water bottle.
Monday and Tuesday from 9.00am – 3.00pm on the 22nd and 23rd of January
This course is recommended for ages 7+
