Description

✨Fairy Tales✨

This holiday in Comics Quest we’re going to be creating our own adaptations of some of the most famous FAIRY TALES of all time! From the tragedy of Rupunzel, the humour of Goldilocks to the grand adventure of Jack and the Beanstalk, we’re going to be exploring the full highs and lows of these enchanting tales.

Across eight activities, each student will work towards retelling one fairy tale in comics form. Working from scripts written by Campbell Whyte, each story will take on a life of it’s own as characters and settings spring off the page.

During this class, we will be building both fundamental comics making skills as well as advanced drawing techniques. Essential skills such as narrative pacing, choosing the right moment for each panel and dialogue will be taught in depth alongside anatomy, perspective, shading and much more.

Comics is an incredible medium that combines aspects of visual arts, graphic design, calligraphy and literature into something wholly unique.

Our small class size of only 10, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.

All materials and an afternoon tea fruit platter will be provided for each day. Please bring a nut free snack and lunch as well as a water bottle.

Monday and Tuesday from 10.00am – 4.00pm on the 17th and 18th of April

This course is recommended for ages 7+

NOTE: Students will need to be able to read in order to adapt the provided scripts.
