✨Comics Fundamentals – Full Day ✨
Join Campbell Whyte, the award winning maker of the graphic novel series Home Time as he helps you find your perfect comics-making process, by writing with pictures and drawing with words.
In our first two-hour workshop, we’ll dig down into the fundamentals of how comics work. Looking at the importance of clear drawing, compositions, word play and the magic of the panel.
This is the perfect introduction to learning to make great comics.
During our second two-hour session, we’ll be focusing on drawing dynamic figures. One of the most important skills a comics maker can learn is how to draw accurate, exciting and expressive figures. After all, a comic isn’t much fun to look at if all the people are standing around as stiff as mannequins!
During our final two-hour workshop, we’ll be focusing on perspective drawing. One of the great challenges of drawing is how to create images with depth, that seem like a window into an imagined world. In this workshop we’ll go through the fundamentals of flat and isometric perspective then on to more complex one-point and two-point drawing techniques.
Our small class size of only 12, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.
