✨ Rachel Ruysch – busy bouquets✨

In Junior Art this term we will be looking at the life and art of the most famous floral still life painters, Rachel Ruysch. We will look at her paintings of tulips and sculpt our own from crepe peper.

We will learn about the tulip mania of 1636 where tulips were worth more that 3 peoples yearly income and we will arrange our tulips for observational drawings of them. Using oil pastels we will study the symbolism and the meanings of her choices of flowers, bugs and butterflies and use them to create compositions to collage onto dark canvases.

Our small class size of only 12, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.

Thursday Home School session runs at 10:00am – 11:30am from the 19th of October until the 7th of December

Thursday afternoon session runs at 4:00pm – 5:30pm from the 19th of October until the 7th of December

Saturday morning session runs at 9.30am – 11.00am from the 14th of October until the 2nd of December

This course is recommended for ages 7+
