Join master-painter Elizabeth Marruffo as she guides you through some of the painting techniques used by O’Keeffe. From preparing compositions and transferring images, to working with non-toxic oil paints this eight week course is going to provide students with a deep understanding of the way this American modernist artist worked.

This term we will focus on the life and work of American painter Georgia O’keeffe, whose iconic paintings of flowers, open deserts and bleached bones were prized for their stunning beauty and elegance. Students will be looking at O’keeffe’s work and using non-toxic oil paints to complete colour studies of landscapes, florals and skulls., Students will be learning about colour mixing and gain an appreciation of O’Keeffes unique vision for arranging her striking compositions.

Our small class size of only 12, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.

Saturday midday session runs at 11.30am – 1.00pm from the 3rd of February until the 23rd of March

Sunday morning session runs at 9.30am – 11.00am from the 4th of February until the 24th of March

This course is recommended for ages 11 +

Note: No previous experience with painting is required in order to join this class, however it is stuited to older students as the process we teach does require students to be patient and have the ability to maintain interest in a long-term project.
