✨My Neighbour Totoro – shadowbox sculptures✨
This holiday in Junior Art we will be exploring the wonderful world of Studio Ghibli’s beloved film My Neighbour Totoro, as we craft our way through a range of delightful creations.
Ghibli’s heartfelt films have defined Japanese animation for a generation, telling stories that seamlessly weave the magical with the everyday. Over the two days, we will be inspired by their traditional animation techniques of layering images to create our own shadowboxes.
Using a variety of materials such as paint pens, gouache and acrylic sheets, we will design, transfer and render all the layers of necessary to create an illustration with real depth. In this course we will study figure drawing of characters, painting of landscapes and discover how this iconic animation studio achieve their signature style.
Our small class size of only 12, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.
All materials and an afternoon tea fruit platter will be provided for each day. Please bring a nut free snack and lunch as well as a water bottle.
Wednesday and Thursday from 10.00am – 4.00pm on the 27th and 28th of September
