Over the 8 week course, students will be mentored as they develop their very own comic book. We will explore character design, write stories with clear structures as well as study character motivation and how to express it through illustration.
At the end, students should have a mini-comic of their own to take home.
Comics from this term will be a part of the annual Perth Comic Arts Festival on August 6th and 7th. Campbell and Elizabeth co-founded and run the festival which will be held at the Western Australian Museum this year. The event is a huge celebration of local comics-makers, featuring workshops, talks, exhibitions and the market-hall which will feature over 70 local creators.
Students will have the opportunity to share their works at this event and discover the huge variety of local comics.
This project will help develop collaborate story telling skills, imagination and technical drawing skills.
Our small class size of only 12, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.
