In this two-day masterclass, students will be exploring the wonderful world of Studio Ghibli’s beloved film Ponyo, as they sculpt and paint their way through a range of delightful creations.
We’ll explore shape and texture as we needle felt our own miniature Ponyo, sculpt a gaggle of tiny Ponyo sisters out of modelling clay and decorate a beautiful glass bubble with woven sea grasses.
Then, we will be studying the incredible painting techniques used by Studio Ghibli artists when creating their lush background environments. By looking closely at underwater scenes and effects, we’ll design and paint our very own layered shadow boxes that have depth and beauty.
Our small class size of only 10, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.
All materials and an afternoon tea fruit platter will be provided for each day. Please bring a nut free snack and lunch as well as a water bottle.
