Description

Join master-painter Elizabeth Marruffo as she guides you through the traditional painting techniques she learnt while studying in Florence. From preparing compositions and transferring images, to working with non-toxic oil paints this introduction to oil painting will provide students with a deep understanding of the way a traditional artist worked.

Each student will complete a large painting of a flower inspired by the works of the incredible dutch painter Rachel Ruysch. Students will learn how to transfer an image onto board, lay down tonal under-studies and use oil paints to bring their work to life with vivid colour.

Our small class size of only 8, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.

Note: Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on. Works will still be wet at the end of the workshop, a cardboard box will be supplied to transport the painting in. Make sure your work is transported with care.

Monday from 9.30am – 3.00pm on the 10th of January

This workshop is for ages 10+
