12:00pm – 2:00pm 28th of May
Join local comics-maker Campbell Whyte, creator of the award-winning graphic novel series Home Time, as he runs you through the process of making your very own comic.
From generating ideas, essential skills as well as storytelling tips and tricks, this workshop will give you the knowledge to step out and tell your very own stories, by writing with pictures and drawing with words.
In this workshop, students will:
– Use pencils and paper to complete a range of drawings in a small booklet
– Follow along with quick, short drawing challenges that encourage them to learn new skills
– Make their own small comic, considering recall, story structure, character design, composition and dialogue
Using the written word is not necessary for this workshop, students can complete all the activities and make their own comic strips without needing to write.
Our small class ratio of 1 teacher to 8 students, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.
