Join comics-maker Campbell Whyte as we dig deep into the techniques and materials used by Akira Toriyama to create his iconic series, Dragon Ball.
Over two days we will be studying the explosive and playful work of Akira Toriyama, creator of the Dragon Ball series. From page layout and pen types to toning and lettering. We’ll explore all the different techniques that Toriyama uses to bring their incredible series to life.
Essential skills such as narrative pacing, choosing the right moment for each panel and dialogue will be taught in depth alongside anatomy, perspective, shading and much more.
Comics is an amazing story-telling medium that combines aspects of visual arts, graphic design, calligraphy and literature into something wholly unique.
Our small class size of only 12, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome.
This masterclass is a perfect deep-dive for both those that are just beginning their journey into the comics-making, as well as those who have been experimenting for years.
All materials and an afternoon tea fruit platter will be provided for each day. Please bring a nut free snack and lunch as well as a water bottle.
