We hosted the first Comics Maker Network meetup in our new space last night!

It was lovely to have so many people from the local comics community turn up and share in our love for the medium. Was great to hear about all the work people have been making and reading during the lockdown, as well as our bright plans for the future.

As much as you might think that Milktooth is only about supporting young artists, we also run events and workshops for older creatives. With our move to a bigger location, we’re excited about being able to offer more opportunities for adults.

So keep an eye out for some exciting new events coming soon!

Our first, two-day Comics Quest Masterclass sold out in record time, so we've offered a second session for the July holidays. We're really excited about these Masterclasses, as they'll offer keen comics-makers the opportunity to really immerse themselves in the world of comics.

So pack your bags, because you're starting your first year at the spookiest school in the land, SPOOK SCHOOL! Where skeletons roam the halls, hexes are cast in secret and dark mysteries await...

Across twelve different activities, we will be exploring both fundamental comics making skills as well as advanced drawing techniques. Comics is an incredible medium that combines aspects of visual arts, graphic design, calligraphy and literature into something wholly unique.

Essential skills such as narrative pacing, choosing the right moment for each panel and dialogue will be taught in depth alongside anatomy, perspective, shading and much more.

This weekend we hosted a special Dungeons and Drag

This weekend we hosted a special Dungeons and Dragons birthday for an excited group of kids. The adventure saw them exploring the annual Faire of the Nigh Shade, encountering pick-pocket elves, sleazy photographers and fearsome guards.

Collaborative role playing is such a fun method of storytelling. It draws upon so many different interdisciplinary skills while emphasising cooperation and empathy.

It would be amazing to see it utilised more often across schools as a way of engaging students and connecting discrete learning areas.

It was excellent to go adventuring with so many creative and enthusiastic explorers.
