My dad’s eye. Dec 19th is always difficult as that is the day he died, he was 42, the same age I am now. Grief never leaves and I wouldn’t want it to. My Mexican grandfather, he was blind in this eye. He was a carpenter who built the house my dad grew up in, my mum said he was blinded by either a carpentry accident or a horse kicked him 🤔. As I write this I’m thinking about how awful it would have been for my dad to not be allowed to return to that house that his dad built (various imperialist and racist reasons that continue to worsen to this day in the U.S) Oh man, apologies for the sad stories, they aren’t necessarily so sad for me but seeing them this way I can see that they are 😞💕 . #eyepainting #wip #loverseye #giftoflove #triangle #oilpainting #hexagon #copperleaf #perthartist #melancholy
