We have courses that explore comics, painting, textiles and drawing, where students can learn new skills and discover the history and techniques of some of Milktooth’s favourite artists. Our class sizes are small, to ensure that everyone gets the attention they need and our focus is on students having a good time in a relaxed and friendly environment, while growing their own creative confidence and taking home a treasure they are proud of. ✨Advanced Art with Elizabeth Marruffo✨ Saturd ✨Advanced Art with Elizabeth Marruffo✨ Saturdays 11:30am – 1:00pm, 8 x 1.5hr lessons Join master-painter Elizabeth Marruffo as she guides you through the traditional painting techniques she learnt while studying in Florence. From preparing compositions and transferring images, to working with non-toxic oil paints this eight week course is going to provide students with a deep understanding of the way a traditional artist worked. This term we will focus on the life and work of American painter Georgia O’keeffe, whose iconic paintings of flowers, open deserts and bleached bones were prized for their stunning beauty and elegance. Students will be looking at O’keeffes work and using non-toxic oil paints to complete 3 small studies (landscape, floral, skull), learning about composition of a painting and then painting one large work based on their composition. Saturday midday session runs at 11.30am – 1.00pm from the 24th July until the 11th September This course is recommended for ages 10+
✨Junior Art with Elizabeth Marruffo✨ Welcome ✨Junior Art with Elizabeth Marruffo✨ Welcome to the incredible world of Mary Anning! Join us at Milktooth over 8 weeks as we explore the life and work of one of the most important scientists of all time, Mary Anning. Born on the Southern coast of England, she spent her years tirelessly exploring the sea-side cliffs, excavating, interpreting and documenting the prehistoric fossils she found. Anning’s contributions to paleontology revolutionised our understanding of the deep past and the history of our planet. Each session of the 8 week course will see students exploring a different aspect of her life through a creative project, learning new skills and gaining new knowledge along the way. Our small class size of only 10, means that each student will get the feedback and attention they need in order to achieve their best outcome. In Junior Art we will be exploring the world of Mary Anning, through a range of activities such as studying and illustrating the incredible mathematical patterns of ferns, recreating the abstract patterns of cyanobacteria using organic paints, carefully drawing the dimensional forms of spiraling shells, felting a small model of Anning herself and much more. At the end of term, the completed works will be curated into a small, cabinet of curiosities to take home. Thursday afternoon session runs at 4.00pm – 5.30pm from the 29th of July until the 16th of September Saturday morning session runs at 9.30am – 11.00am from the 24th of July until the 11th of September This course is recommended for ages 7+

There's been a slight change of our programming with Friday after school courses not running this term. We hope you can join us on either the Thursday or Saturday for the same sessions. This term we're going to be exploring the incredible life and times of paleontologist, Mary Anning, the beautiful and mysterious paintings of Georgia O'Keeffe, the bombastic comics of Akira Toriyama and the spooky mysteries of suburbia.
